MODULAR GAS PLANTS

A natural gas processing plant is required for most gas streams that are produced from a gas well or an associated oil well. Natural gas in its raw form can contain water, NGL (Natural Gas Liquids), CO2 and H2s. The natural gas from well heads usually requires processing to remove the above contaminates from the gas stream.

Chemex manufactures the following Modular Gas Processing Components

  • Field Compression System – To raise the gas pressure from the well heads to the pressure required for gas transmission.
  • Amine Treater - If the gas contains over 3% CO2 or any H2S then the second step in gas processing is to remove these contaminates using an amine treater.
  • Glycol Dehydrator - To remove enough of the water to prevent freezing. The gas stream is treated with a glycol dehydrator or methanol injection until the gas won’t freeze in transmission or processing. Chemex supplies glycol dehydrators from 100 to 30,000 Mscfd (thousand standard cubic feet per day). Design pressure available from 230 to 2,160 psig.
  • Mole Sieve Dehydrators – To remove all the water from the gas stream. This unit is used when the gas is processed to very low temperatures.
  • Natural Gas Processing Plant - The third step in gas processing is to remove the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) from the gas stream. To remove the NGLs the gas is cooled until the desired NGL condenses.
  • NGL Fractionator – An NGL stream normally contains three components. Propane, field grade butane and natural gasoline. These three components are separated from each other using an NGL fractionator.
  • Emergency Flare - For burning off unwanted or flammable gas and liquids released by plant equipment.
  • Claus Unit - For gas desulfurizing and recovery of elemental sulfur from gaseous hydrogen sulfide.
